For any previous readers and information for the new subscribers, the site name has changed from SimsSlims to SimsSlimsSpeaks. The reason is I have learned in the past two years there is so much more to my life journey than weight loss and I wanted a central place to speak or guess write about what matters to me. As I stated in my last post, I am actively writing poetry again as well as attending virtual open mics. I wanted a place to put down my creativity. I thought speaks also reflects my day gig of being a Speech Language Pathologist in the public schools where I work on helping children speak and find their authentic voice and language. I suppose I finally realized that life doesn’t happen in a vacuum and you can’t really compartmentalize all the aspects of your life to make it cookie cutter for the internet. I decided to share more of me than just a woman wanting to lose weight and get healthier. I also want to have an abundant and full life that sparks joy, touches my soul and helps other people. Additionally, I have a new slogan for my life which is Shaping Successful Sustenance for the Soul. I admit it is a mouthful but I love the alliteration and I know once my mind and soul are good the rest will fall into place. Thank you for coming on this journey with me!
